fairy in the sand

Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best.

Yes, yes you are. Thing is that I usually listen to the radio during the day. Almost every day. I just need music in the background while doing my thing, plus that I like to be up to date with the new songs which come out. But sometimes I get sick of hearing the same music on and on, and this is exactly what happend yesterday,  so I started browsing through my old music and so I found Lana. The Lana. Two years ago I was listening to her songs like crazy and now I totally forgot about them. Which is why, while writing this post I'm listening to "Summertime Sadness" pretty much on repeat. :)
What better time of the year to listen to this song if not now, at the end of August? Even if this summer was loong and so very warm, I'm still getting a bit melancholic and I already miss the seaside, the sand, the fun, the long days.

On another matter, today's look is an all white one, the star of it being THIS sheer lace shirt which I liked so much the moment I saw it. I love its asymmetric cut and I that is exactly what makes it so interesting. It is completely see-through, so I had to wear a white top underneath and for the bottom part I chose a pair of white shorts. Simple and casual for the holiday, while the gladiator sandals were my closest friend this summer. I tried out two looks: with and without the turban, but I cannot decide which one I like better. What do you think?

Have a great weekend,
Love, A.

those evening lights

I don't know how this summer was for you, but here it was really hot. I'm not complaining since this is my favorite season and I will always prefer 30 degrees and sunny weather instead of 10 degrees and rain, but when it started raining heavily on Friday I was actually happy. I missed a bit of gloomy weather with temperatures that allow you to breathe normally, I missed having a good sleep at night and I missed wearing jeans, sneakers and even a biker jacket. However, summer is not over and I'm glad about it, since I'm not quite ready to embrace the cold season yet. I've seen that this week it will get warm again but with normal temperatures, not 38 degrees yuhuu.

Anyway, here I have for you another look which I wore in Gran Canaria on a lovely summer evening. I told you have lots of outfits to show you from our holiday, didn't I? :) You probably saw this dress before on my Instagram and it was one of my favorites the whole summer. I bought it when the sales started and wore it in all sorts of combinations ever since: with sneakers, flat sandals, wedges or heeled sandals. I love the light fabric, the asymmetric cut, it's simplicity and of course, the wonderful color. This time I wore it with my snake-printed wedges from Zara and a simple white clutch and I kept the accessories scarce: just a watch and my blue mirrored sunglasses, which match the dress. :)

What do you think?
Hugs hugs.

lean on

While browsing the photos after the shooting, I automatically associated this series with the song from Major Lazer we all heard so much this summer, "Lean On". I don't know exactly why, but I guess it's because of that oriental chorus it has.

Anyway, I must confess that I imagined this shooting at least one month before getting to Gran Canaria. Usually, after knowing our next holiday destination, I search for photos and videos, read about it and check my tripadvisor app to see what can be done and seen there. This is how I discovered "Las Dunas de Maspalomas", which are sand dunes just like the ones in the desert, but of course spread over a smaller area. It was the first time when I saw something like that and I was completely mesmerized of how gorgeous it looks, especially when you see the ocean in the background. We were super lucky to have them close to our hotel, so I was able to go twice with my friend there in order to shoot some photos at sunset. The light was warm and magical and the sand was cold, just perfect. FIY, during the day is impossible to do something like that because the sand is hot as hell, :)).

Moreover, when I saw this flowy, long dress in a gorgeous raspberry shade at Mango, I could only imagine wearing it while having the dunes as a background.. Then, I thought of adding a turban and huge statement necklace in order to give that oriental vibe to this look and I didn't forget about the most beloved summer accessory - the flashtattoo. I planed it all, I'm telling you.

I'm super thrilled how these photos turned out and they are my favorite in a looooooong time. My hubby even suggested we should choose some and frame them. :) Even if I usually like to post everything chronologically, this time I didn't obey my own rules because I wanted to show you this set already. I hope you'll like them as much as I do.

I'm waiting for your opinion :)
Love, A.

tropical print

Hello my dears,

Long time, no see. After a week of photo retouching, I am finally done with our vacation pics, so now I'll be able to show you some outfits I wore there. The ones who follow me on Instagram probably know where we spent our summer vacation, but for the ones who are not up to date, this year's destination was Gran Canaria. Since we've already been to Thailand this year, we wanted to go somewhere closer this time, somewhere in Europe and we kind of automatically thought of Spain. Then, the next choice was to go to some islands and since we were going with our friends, we all thought of the Canarian Islands, a destination which was not familiar to any of us - Gran Canaria or Tenerife, and in the end we chose the first one.

I think it was a great choice and it was exactly what we applied for. We spent there 9 beautiful days sunbathing on black sandy beaches & not only, exploring the island, visiting a beautiful port and the highest peak on the island (1911 m), eating yummy paella, drinking sangrias and enjoying some quality time all together.

Since I had my dear friend with me, I was able to shoot many outfit photos there, so at least for the next two weeks you will be (hopefully) delighted to see some of my summer/holiday looks. The very first one is also some of my favorites and it is in fact a beach look which I wore while visiting the only beach on the island which has white sand. Actually Playa de Amadores is an artificial beach, which is why it has white sand while all the other ones have black sand.
Anyway, the outfit is quite simple but the tropical print was very trendy this summer and these H&M pieces became very beloved among bloggers and not only. They got even to me and I love the contrast between the print and the tanned skin, while the pants cannot be more perfect for a beach day. They are a bit transparent, but once that problem is solved, I think they could be worn together with a crop top also for a walk on the promenade or even for a dinner on the beach. Hats are a must for me while being at the seaside and this is my currently favorite.

Gotta go now, enjoy the photos!

Besitos,
Andra
