sweater on sweater

More like cardigan on sweater, but you get it. That day was so sunny and warm and pretty, it truly felt like spring, so I was able to wear the pretty cream sweater, which I promised to show you again, and an oversized, colorful cardigan which I got as a present for Christmas. I already told you about the cream sweater in a previous post (here), but I couldn't show it to you properly because of the low temperatures, so now I had the opportunity to take closer photos of it, by creating a different look. A look which goes perfectly with the background and warm sunlight, a look which might make you think of a warm autumn day, a look which is quite new for me since I didn't used to wear brown/camel at all. The cardigan is also something different for me, something I might have never picked by myself, but for some reason I totally love the colors & pattern and the fact that it is incredibly soft and warm. It is actually as warm as a coat, so it's more than perfect at this point.
I found the boots on sale and I'm obsessed with them, I can only imagine how great will they look in summer with some white dresses! <3

Summertime sadness

Yes, yes you are. Thing is that I usually listen to the radio during the day. Almost every day. I just need music in the background while doing my thing, plus that I like to be up to date with the new songs which come out. But sometimes I get sick of hearing the same music on and on, and this is exactly what happend yesterday, so I started browsing through my old music and so I found Lana. The Lana. Two years ago I was listening to her songs like crazy and now I totally forgot about them. Which is why, while writing this post I'm listening to "Summertime Sadness" pretty much on repeat. :)

What better time of the year to listen to this song if not now, at the end of August? Even if this summer was loong and so very warm, I'm still getting a bit melancholic and I already miss the seaside, the sand, the fun, the long days.

On another matter, today's look is an all white one, the star of it being THIS sheer lace shirt which I liked so much the moment I saw it. I love its asymmetric cut and I that is exactly what makes it so interesting. It is completely see-through, so I had to wear a white top underneath and for the bottom part I chose a pair of white shorts. Simple and casual for the holiday, while the gladiator sandals were my closest friend this summer. I tried out two looks: with and without the turban, but I cannot decide which one I like better. What do you think?

those evening lights

I don't know how this summer was for you, but here it was really hot. I'm not complaining since this is my favorite season and I will always prefer 30 degrees and sunny weather instead of 10 degrees and rain, but when it started raining heavily on Friday I was actually happy. I missed a bit of gloomy weather with temperatures that allow you to breathe normally, I missed having a good sleep at night and I missed wearing jeans, sneakers and even a biker jacket. However, summer is not over and I'm glad about it, since I'm not quite ready to embrace the cold season yet. I've seen that this week it will get warm again but with normal temperatures, not 38 degrees yuhuu.

Anyway, here I have for you another look which I wore in Gran Canaria on a lovely summer evening. I told you have lots of outfits to show you from our holiday, didn't I? :) You probably saw this dress before on my Instagram and it was one of my favorites the whole summer. I bought it when the sales started and wore it in all sorts of combinations ever since: with sneakers, flat sandals, wedges or heeled sandals. I love the light fabric, the asymmetric cut, it's simplicity and of course, the wonderful color. This time I wore it with my snake-printed wedges from Zara and a simple white clutch and I kept the accessories scarce: just a watch and my blue mirrored sunglasses, which match the dress. :)

Today I want to show you another item from OASAP which I love - this skirt. This and the green dress are definitely my favorites among the four things that I ordered. I love midi skirts and especially this one because of its perfect shape and length, its fabric (which is, I think, 100% cotton) and because of the print. It is just too cute and it can be easily combined with all sorts of colors, but I especially liked combining it with black or white, or both. You can wear it both with sneakers, for a casual, sporty-chic outfit, or with heels for an elegant one; you can wear it at work, when going out for brunch, or cocktails, or whatever, your choices are infinite because I think it goes with everything and suits every occassion.

Travel Diaries: La Digue Island

The second island where we stayed for 4 days was La Digue, the smallest one among the three. In order to get there we took the ferry from Praslin and the ride takes about 15 minutes.
In order to see the island we rented bikes for two days, because the island is so small that they don't have any cars for rent. The locals told us that there are around 15 cars on the island and those are taxis and other facility cars. Funny thing, we experienced here the shortest taxi ride - I think it too like 3 minutes to get from the harbor to the hotel. Anyway, another transportation facility which you may use here are the ox-carts, but we thought bicycles are better. And faster.

The first day we went took a walk around the island up to the beach "Anse Source D'Argent" which is the most popular beach on La Digue (you can see in the first 10 photos below), and we also walked around those granite boulders, through the water, to find smaller hidden beaches and to climb in the end on a granite hill for a breathtaking view. Furthermore, the commercials for Bacardi and Bounty were filmed on this beach.
What I forgot to mention is that, before getting to that beach, we passed the "Union Plantation Reserve" where we could see some giant Tortoises, star fruit trees, an old manual mill, a creepy cemetery where the first owners of that domain are buried, and a vanilla plantation.

During the second day we went, by bike, to explore the south-eastern part of the island and the two most beautiful beaches I've ever seen - Grand Anse and Petit Anse. Even though the water currents are very strong on this part of the island, the nature and the beaches are amazing and the fact that there were very few tourists (on Petit Anse there were 6 persons counting us) made it even better. Swimming is forbidden on Grand Anse, but the waters of Petit Anse were truly ours. :)

We spent the third day cycling from the north-western side of the island up to north-east for more beautiful views and untouched nature, we had lunch on a terrace situated on the shore, and we spent the evening watching the amazing sunset at a very nice beach bar.
