Wearing a tulle skirt in winter

Tulle skirts are among my favourites, nothing new there, but the main problem with them is that they are generally suitable for the warm season. However, Zara always thinks way ahead of us and they nailed this one too! :)) I saw this khaki beauty at the beginning of autumn but I thought it was a bit pricey plus that I already had other tulle skirts so it wasn't something really necessary to invest in. But when the sales come and the price is waaaay better than the original one, that is another story my friends. You see it standing there, on the hanger, all alone among other types of skirts and it is even a size bigger, but it doesn't matter, you know it has to be yours. Do you know the feeling?! :))

Oh well, at least it is in a different color than what I had before and the good part is that I can easily wear it during winter as well. If fact, these photos were taken on a cold day of January but together with a thick sweater, black tights and a cozy oversized coat it was just perfect. I finally added a bag in the same tone with the rest of the outfit and I was good to go. Probably this color palette is more autumn appropriate but I think that most of these shades are suitable for the whole cold season and I actually liked how they all look together. :)

Other than that, the weekend is almost here and I'm excited to explore another city here in China, yay! You will probably have to follow me on Instagram to see more - @andyandra . I wish you all a lovely weekend and let me know what you think about this look. Would you wear tutus in winter?

Hey hey hey, Friday is here! It it already over a month since we moved to Shanghai and I must tell you that I got used to living here sooner than expected and I like it here, but there are definitely times when I miss Europe.
I felt like writing today so I thought of sharing with you the top five things which I discovered since being here:

1. You need a smart phone, with a long-lasting battery (hopefully), a functioning camera and internet. All day, every day. You need it for maps, navigation, subway stations, for translating things, for scanning QR Codes - everything has a QR Code here which will give you all the information you need or with which you can pay a certain thing. And since I got at this point, yes you can even buy things using your phone and I don't mean online shopping but you can pay with your phone just like you would pay with your card. Maybe this is not new for all of you but for me it certainly was :D. Anyway, there are tons of apps which you can download on your phone and will keep you updated with the events which take place in the city every day or apps which will help you find a certain restaurant, club, theatre, etc. Basically you can find everything you need.

2. Getting to the restaurants part, I recently heard that there are over 60.000 restaurants in Shanghai (can we take a moment and process this, please?!) and this doesn't count the street food vendors. So you can imagine that you can find here everything you want in terms of international and national cuisines. However, the local Chinese food is different from the European Chinese food I used to know and it is not exactly my favourite :)) But I must admit I didn't try much, so I still have a lot to discover. Moreover, the typical Chinese cuisine in Shanghai is very sweet and that includes everything: sweet bread, sweet yoghurt, sweet peanuts, sweet everything. :D

3. If you didn't like crowds before (like myself) you will definitely get used to it here. Living in a city with 23 million people implies crowds almost everywhere: in the subways, especially between 17-19, in the city, especially during the weekends. Of course, if you really don't like it you can avoid the peak hours during the day or during the weekends and you always take a taxi, which by the way are very affordable (so COOL!). :)

4. There are many people who speak English here, especially in the city centre but the further away you get from the centre the harder it is to find someone who speaks English. Which brings me back to number 1, where I told you that you definitely need an app which will help you translate everything from Chinese to English and vice versa. I didn't have it during the first days here and boy it was hard..but now whenever I need to say something I translate it first and show my phone :D

5. Shanghai is a huuuuge city and you can never get bored here. There is always something to do, something to see and I would also say it is a city of contrasts, which makes it even more interesting and exciting. Also, I feel that the time is on fast forward here, the days are passing by a lot faster and everything has an accelerated rhythm.

On another matter, last Sunday was sunny and warmer, it almost felt like spring so we managed to shoot three outfits, yay. You already saw the first one on Vday and this second one must be my favourite. I created it around the lovely dusty pink oversized SWEATER which was on my wishlist for a long time and I am so glad that I finally ordered it. You know how much I love oversized clothes and this is just perfect: from the beautiful colour which is a first in my wardrobe, to the big sleeves and large V-neck cut, I love it all. The fabric is also very good, thick and quite heavy and I think it is a perfect piece from spring as well. I wanted to style it first with a pair of white pants and it looked very elegant and pretty, but then I decided to go for something new and different: a pair of khaki trousers and some nude shoes and accessories. I love how this turned out, but let me know what you think. :D

How to wear a Bomber Jacket?

[EN] As you might know, the Bomber Jacket is one of the IT Items (Must-haves or however you want to call them) this season. You can find them in stores or online in sooo many colors, such as black, khaki, pink, baby blue, etc. I, for one, did browse some websites and finally I found the perfect one HERE, at a very good price. I love bomber jackets and especially a khaki one, because it is so versatile and easy to style. You can wear it in all kinds of outfits, from casual to sporty-chic and even more elegant ones, by adding some heels (you can take a look on Pinterest too. Also, add Andy Andra if you want to follow me). Over a sweater, a T-Shirt, a dress or even paired with a skirt, it will look amazing and it is really a good investment since you can wear it the whole spring, during the cold summer nights or even in autumn.

Since there is such a frenzy about these jackets right now, I thought of showing you three possibilities of how you could wear it. All three outfits are quite casual ones, but the flat shoes could be easily replaced with some heeled ones and get a super chic #OOTD. You have direct links to the items underneath the pictures. [RO] Dupa cum probabil stiti deja, jacheta Bomber este una dintre piesele cheie din acest sezon, o piesa care nu poate sa lipseasca din garderoba voastra. De gasit le puteti gasi atat in magazine, cat si online, in diferite culori (negru, khaki, roz, albastru deschis, etc). Eu una m-am tot uitat pe diferite site-uri si am gasit in final varianta perfecta a acestei geci AICI, la un pret foarte bun. Imi place tare mult modelul acesta de jacheta si in special cea pe khaki deoarece mi se pare extrem de versatila si usor de purtat in fel de fel de tinute: de la casual/comod la sporty-chic si chiar in tinute mai elegante, daca e sa optam pentru niste pantofi cu toc (va puteti uita si pe Pinterest, iar daca vreti sa ma urmariti si acolo, Andy Andra e numele meu). Indiferent daca alegeti sa o purtati peste un pulover, un tricou, o rochie sau chiar in combinatie cu o fusta, aceasta geaca va arata minunat si este o investitie tare buna deoarece o puteti purta intreaga primavara, in serile racoroase de vara si chiar la toamna.

Momentan este o intreaga frenezie in legatura cu aceasta jacheta, asa ca m-am gandit sa va arat trei posibilitati de a o purta. Toate cele trei tinute sunt unele casual, dar pantofii fara toc pot fi cu usurinta schimbati cu unii cu toc, obtinand astfel o tinuta foarte chic. Sub fiecare poza gasiti linkuri directe catre piesele vestimentare din imagini. Tinuta mea preferata este a treia si m-as bucura sa aflu care va place voua cel mai mult sau cum ati purta voi o astfel de geaca. :D

Military Green

Wow, if there is something I really hate than that is definitely waking up early in the morning. I never liked it, not even when I was in school. I got used to it, but I always hated it. Why can't the day start at 9-10 a.m.? I find this a reasonable hour which has all the advantages: you get to snuggle in bed a little longer and to sleep during the best time of the day (oh sweet morning sleep!), it gets a little warmer outside and you don't freeze to death, you are more rested, you embrace the new day differently, etc.

Why 7? Ugghh,that's such an ugly time of the day. Earlier? I don't even want to talk about it.

Anyway, I started writing this post this morning, so these were just some early, early thoughts. In fact I wanted to show you today this military green trench coat, which I find to be perfect for this time of the year. It took me quite a while to decide whether I should get a beige or a khaki/military green one and finally I decided upon the second one because the color was too pretty and I loved its length. When I received it though, I fell in love with the light & soft fabric too, which is perfect for the warm, golden autumn days. What I also liked about it was the fact that it is quite a versatile piece and you can wear it with heels, sneakers or even as a dress when belted around your waist. This time I combined it with a striped sweater, black skinny jeans and heels and I added an accessory which stole my heart...the very long earring. In fact, I have two of them but I like the trend of wearing different earrings - a very long one and a small, hidded one. :)

What I also wanted to mention in this post are a few tips for ordering from international websites. I gained some experience so far, after collaborating with different websites or even buying from them. Choies, Sheinside, OASAP, Dresslink are just some of them so here's what I learned:

1. Payment. There are two ways to pay your order: Credit/Debit Card or Pay-Pal. I always use Pay-Pal because everything goes faster, the money are basically transferred by Pay-Pal directly to the website after which Pay-Pal will take the money from your account. I also think that it is safer.

2. Shipping. There are also two types of shipping: regular mail or express shipping. Most of the websites offer free regular shipping, but there are also websites which require a minimum purchase in order to offer you a free shipping. For example, CHOIES offers free shipping worldwide regardless of your purchase amount. For the regular mail it takes about 3 weeks to get to you, while the express shipping costs 15$ and it takes only 1 week for the package to get to you.

3. Sizes. Asian sizes are generally smaller than European ones, so I would always take a size bigger than what I usually wear. However, all products have measurements in cm and inches and the best thing is to measure yourself before ordering a product.

4. Quality. I generally find the quality of the products good, but then again I don't expect to wear something for the next 20 years. My advice to you is to go for products with normal prices (not the cheapest ones) and it's always good to read the reviews of that certain product.
