Casual Monday

Coat / Palton - HERE / AICI (*PR Sample) || Sweatshirt / Bluza - HxMoschino ||
Pants / Pantaloni - H&M || Bag / Geanta - Valentino by Mario Valentino

Even though I usually post more girly & feminine, sometimes even elegant looks, the truth is that on a daily basis I normally go for a pair of jeans / pants, biker boots, a sweater and a coat..therefore that's exactly what I wanted to show you here, today. Of course, with a little twist because otherwise it would have been a little too boring, right?! :)

I started from this fluffy TEDDY COAT in a lovely beige color, which is super warm and soft and by the way...it is also a MUST-HAVE this season. I wanted such a coat for a long time and I'm very glad that I found this one HERE because it's the perfect item for winter. Such a coat is a very versatile piece and it can be worn in many styles and outfits (for e.g. with an all black look, or with sneakers, and even with a dress or a skirt), but since it is already December (I can't believe it!!) and Christmas is coming, I felt like a little bit of red would do it more justice. Red is such a christmasy color, right?!

So, I paired it with my beloved sweatshirt from the HxMoschino Collection which I couldn't wait to get my hands on since it is my fave piece from the collection...and with the "twist" I was telling you about - the vinyl pants, which I bought last year and only wore two times. Vinyl was quite big last winter and this season it is still on trend but there's not such a big hype around it anymore. :)
However, I do find it a special addition to a simple outfit and also perfect for winter.

What do you think of this look? Do you like teddy coats?

Similar but different

 Coat / Palton - HERE / AICI || Sweater / Pulover - HERE / AICI || Shirt / Camasa - H&M || Pants / Pantaloni - H&M || Bag / Geanta - Zara || Ankle Boots / Cizmulite - Primark

Here I am showing you the last outfit of this week, which is a rather predictable combination of colors - black, white and red, but it also is one of my favourites. Yes, the location is the same as the one which you might have seen HERE (even though it was not planned at all), and the color palette of the outfit is also similar, but..let's agree that the looks are totally different. :)

A checked coat is definitely one of the pieces which I didn't have so far and you already know how much I loved this print during summer, so I said why not try styling a coat as well?! So I did and I totally love the result. The coat is in fact more of a trench coat because the fabric is not very thick, but with some layering it can be worn during winter as well. It is lined, double-breasted (with snap buttons on one side) and it comes with a belt as well. I love the fact that it is long and it comes below my knees and I think it is truly a statement piece.

In my opinion, the gingham / checked print looks best with a bright color, therefore I decided to pair it with my new red SWEATER, which is very thick, soft and warm and besides the beautiful color which has been everywhere this autumn/winter, it has balloon sleeves which are also one of this season's trend. Moreover, I think that this type of sleeves make the simplest sweater look at little more sophisticated. :)

For this outfit I chose to pair the sweater with a pair of patent / vinyl trousers, which everyone is mad about at the moment. This fabric is definitely one of this season's must-haves and to be honest, it really got to me. Even though I consider it a rather "complicated" fabric because it is very easy to fail while styling it and get to the trashy/cheap extreme, if it is styled right it just looks amazing.
Some of the tips I have for you when styling a patent item would be to either wear it in a sporty-chic  look, with sneakers, flat boots, a sweatshirt, etc, or if we take today's example, I added a white shirt to equilibrate the situation. The idea is to keep everything as simple as possible because this fabric is "complicated" enough to stand out by itself. :)

Let me know what you think and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish you all a lovely, merry Christmas with happiness, health, joy, love, magical times spent with family and friends, a beautiful Christmas tree and of course..many pretty presents!

Love, A.
