edgy gray

I wrote this last night, so read accordingly..:)

It is one of those nights when you take a break and look at the time, after browsing and scrolling down on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram again and what not, and you realize it is already 1 a.m. and you cannot sleep. Yes, this is what happens to me right now and as much as I like losing myself in the world of Instagram & Pinterest, I thought I could in fact use this time in a productive manner by writing to you. However, you should know it is the first time I do this. I always write my posts during the day, especially around noon or in the afternoon. I also wrote some very early in the morning but never late at night. I can't tell you exact why but I think it has to do with the fact that I was always used to do my things during the day, starting with Primary School and up to University. I know there are persons who concentrate better during the night, but I was always studying during the day and preferred to relax at night and have a good sleep. Ok, there were some exceptions like the nights before an exam when we had to "fatten the pig", but that's another story haha.

Hmmm, seems that I'm on the right path with the writing, so I will tell you some words about my outfit. The center piece is definitely the GRAY COAT and I've been longing for such a coat for a really long time. You know I love coats and I already own a bunch of them but the gray one was not in my wardrobe so you can see what happend (guilty as charged). Besides the fact that it is part of this season's trends, I love the chic, clean, minimalist look it gives to the outfit. I also like the edgy cuts and the big pockets, and of course the oversized structure. The fabric is perfect for the autumn days and with a bit of layering can also be worn during winter. This time I chose to pair it with some flare jeans and a turtleneck sweater, gray heels and clutch, to which I added my statement necklace from Happiness Boutique and my favorite black hat.

Travel Diaries: Praslin Island

As promised, I want to show you today some more snapshots from our honeymoon, and I decided to make a three-posts series, one for each island where we stayed. Today I will start with the first one, Praslin, which is the middle size island among the three and the one with the fewest touristic influences. Everything there is so picturesque, with lush vegetation, hilly landscapes and amazing beaches. Also, on this island you can visit one of the most beautiful beaches in the world - Anse Lazio.
Renting a car there is a must in order to be able to see most of the island because the numerous serpentines and hills make it a bit difficult to walk.

On this island you can find the "Vallée de Mai" Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage, which is a valley in the heart of Praslin National Park, an area which was untouched until the 1930s and still retains primeval palm forest in a near-natural state. Here grows the famous Coco de Mer, which you will see below, and it is the largest seed in the plant kingdom. Rare species of birds, such as the black parrot, also live in this area. Walking through this small jungle at 30 degrees Celsius and 88% humidity is quite an experience, but definitely a worthy one.

Before getting on the second island, we decided to make a cruise to see other three smaller islands, well actually just to snorkel around two of them, Coco Island & Felicité Island, and see the third one - Curieuse Island, with its giant tortoises, mangroves and crabs. A little hiking there didn't hurt..too much. :)
