Sunset in Milano

The first stop of our "Italy trip" was in fact Milano, which is only 500something km away from Stuttgart. Quite a piece of cake. That was of course no surprise and our plan was to stay in one night in Milan before heading to Cinque Terre. This (semi-)short distance was very convenient as it enabled us to see a little bit of the city during the same afternoon and we also managed to see some more the next day, but more about that in a future post.
So we got there on a Sunday afternoon and we decided to walk from our hotel to the Sforza Castle and from there up to Il Duomo and I can still remember the multitude of people on the streets. The city was full, full of people but also full of energy and good vibes and everybody was enjoying the warm nice weather. Needless to say that in front of the Dome was full as well but it was still amazing to see it and even have dinner on a terrace near to it. We also managed to take some photos before getting dark and I wanted to show you the outfit I wore that day.

I've had my eyes on this pink suit for about two months and it was either out of stock (most of the time) or I had some doubts whether I should get it or not. Finally, I obviously got it and it is probably the best investment I've made this year so far. I think it has such a lovely design and it can be styled in so many ways, in an elegant way by wearing heels or in a casual way with some sneakers. I absolutely love it and it is truly a statement piece. Not to mention that suits are very on trend this year!
In Milan was the first time that I wore it, with a striped top and sneakers, to which I added some retro accessories, like the scarf with polka dots and the sunglasses, but I also wore it with a t-shirt, a top or a body and even with sandals. I just love it and I don't think it will go out of style too soon.

When in Pisa..

I still remember our first trip to Italy, which was in 2013 and it comprised five of its most famous cities: Venice, Bologna, Florence, Rome and Verona. I absolutely loved each and every single one of them, both because of their similarities but also for their differences, not to mention the history or the food. Then, two short trips followed: one to Genova in 2014 and Rimini in 2015. Beautiful, but as I said quite short and different from what we saw in 2013. So, after a "short" break of almost three years, we got to visit another part of Italy this year, which was Cinque Terre. I already told you how much I loved Cinque Terre so I'm not gonna go there again, but during that week we took advantage of the short distance from Levanto to Pisa (about 100km) and we decided that it was worth paying it a visit. And so it was!

I have to tell you that the city (even though we saw very little of it) didn't impress me much, but the Piazza dei Miracoli is definitely a must see! It comprises four beautiful edifices: the Pisa Cathedral, the Pisa Baptistry, the Campanile (the Tower of Pisa) and the Camposanto Monumentale (Monumental Cemetery). Of course, the leaning Tower is the main attraction and if you imagine that you will be alone and able to get that perfect picture with the tower you are very wrong. It is quite crowded everywhere, depending also on the day and the hour you get there, but generally there are many people, especially around the tower (see photos below). However, you can still squeeze in and find a spot, but you have to have patience. :) Check out what I managed to do:

Also, I didn't have time to show you my complete outfit that I wore that day and I quite like it, therefore I thought it deserves sharing it with you here on the blog. :) A flowy midi skirt with stripes which caught my attention due to its colours (I didn't have this blue before), which I paired with a cute tee, my black slingbacks and the red bumbag, which you already saw in several combos.

Floral Jumpsuit

Hello hello,

How have you been doing lately? Hope that fine and that the 1st of May is treating you well, with nice weather, delicious food and good company!
I wasn't around last week and if you follow me on Instagram you probably noticed that I spent an amazing week in Italy with my beloved husband and friends. The first stop of our trip was Milano, where we spent only one night but that was enough to admire the beauty of the Dome, to see a bit of the city centre, the pretty Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and have a very good pizza and some Aperol-spritz. The next day we wandered the city centre and went up on the Dome's Terraces, after which we continued our journey towards Cinque Terre and more exactly to Levanto, where we rented a vila on a hill and spent the next five days.

Levanto is very close to the colourful villages in Cinque Terre and the best way to get to those villages is by taking local trains, directly from Levanto to Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. You can buy a Cinque Terre card with which you can travel the whole day in any/all of those villages by train or you can use the trekking routes to go from one village to the other without paying extra. But if you intend to see just one village in a day it's better and cheaper to buy a one-trip ticket.
We visited Monterosso al Mare on our first day there and chose to visit other three villages the second day, which is not exactly my recommendation to you. I think that two villages in one day would be the right choice if you don't want to lose too much time on one of them, but you also don't want to be too tired at the end. The villages are very similar but they all have their charm and beauty and I totally fell in love with the whole area.

The photos I'm showing you today were taken on our second day, in two different villages: the ones with the seaside were taken in Riomaggiore and the ones on the narrow street were taken in Manarola, and even though I am usually a skirt / dress kind of girl, for this vacation I decided to try something new and therefore I wore a floral JUMPSUIT. I fell in love with it ever since I got it and I immediately knew that it would fit the location perfectly. The fabric is light and perfect for summer, but also very silky and pleasant to wear, the size is perfect for me (I chose size M) and of course, I love the color and the floral print. The jumpsuit has a very deep V neck, but I chose to wear a nude pink top underneath and it matched the flowers on the print as well. I also added a pink bag and my new favourite earrings (they are to die fooooor) and finally a pair of black flats and sunnies.
