Here I am, writing to you one year after our arrival in Shanghai. And as cliche as it may sound, I really don't know how the time flew by so fast. But if I am to draw the line we really traveled a lot this year, more than ever probably and more than I would have imagined at the beginning of this journey. We saw many cities and places in China and had the pleasure to discover a new culture, a culture veery different from ours, fact which can only highlight how big this world is, how different are the people living in it and how important it is to travel and see as much as you can. Because this is what truly widens our horizons.

If I were to choose two favourite places in China these would definitely be: 1. the Great Wall, of which I didn't have many expectations but which impressed me to the core of my heart, and 2. Shanghai, the city that never sleeps, a metropolis which has everything to offer, a great place to live for both the Western and the Chinese people. And compared to other cities we saw in China, it is the city which is the closest to our Western culture, where many many expats live. This city will always have a special place in our hearts and I consider myself very lucky for having the chance to live here.

Besides mother China we also had the chance to see Hong Kong, a concrete jungle which touched our hearts as well and our only regret is that we didn't have time to spend more days there.
Then there was also Japan, a country about which I had learned during the Geography classes in school, a country with intense seismic activity which is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire and which seemed to me so very very far away. But living here, allowed us to see Tokyo and Okinawa, as they are quite close to Shanghai, and we've been so impressed to discover such lovely, nice and helpful people and a very disciplined place and culture. And if we'll ever have the chance to visit this country again, we would definitely love to see Kyoto and Osaka.

Finally, there were the Philippines, another country which we hadn't plan to see this year but it just happend and we are more than happy we did. Well it's a bit much to say that we saw the country since it consists of about 7,641 islands :)) We only saw one, Boracay and we really liked it and would definitely love to see more of them. Maybe some day..who knows?!

So yes my dears, this was a brief retrospective of 2017 because I didn't make any at the end of the year and because nostalgia has hit me now, during our last days here in Shanghai. :)
And to tell you a something about my outfit, I have two words for you: blazers & red color. :)) These were my favorites lately and I'm glad I found this BLAZER which combined them both in one piece. I totally love it and even though it is not very thick, the quality of the blazer is amazing! It can be worn in many combinations and I think in it such a statement pieces. This time however, I decided to wear it with a pair of mom jeans, which are the comfiest ever and a striped sweater, because stripes and red are made for each other :)

Let me know what you think of this post & look :)

Have a great weekend,
A.
